Ethiopian Dula/Prestise Stick

An Ethiopian dula, or prestige stick, with the upright presence these objects are meant to carry.  Some are said to have doubled as items for personal protection. It makes a strong display piece and brings a different rhythm to a collection dominated by smaller metalwork or woven objects. I would give it room on a shelf or cabinet rather than crowd it; the form deserves to be read clearly.
